Our mission as a food bank is to help provide basic non-perishable food to families and individuals in Watauga County, North Carolina, to supplement other county services and to help fill in the gap in availability parameters. Blowing Rock C.A.R.E.S. is a 501(c)3 organization run completely by volunteers.
Our mission is to protect and improve the quality of life in Blowing Rock, take proactive stands on civic affairs, educate and engage citizens on key town issues, work with local government, and encourage citizens to be involved in the community.
The Community Foundation was founded in 1985 to raise funds exclusively for the Blowing Rock Community. The earnings from Community Service Day Golf and Tennis Tournaments and our popular Groovy Nights Show are used to award Grants to the town and scholarships to local college students.
The Blowing Rock Garden Club goals include preserving the natural beauty of the community, advancing local knowledge of gardening, encouraging farsighted civic planning and planting and protecting and restoring the quality of our environment. Membership is open to all interested gardeners.
BLOWING ROCK HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The Blowing Rock Historical Society (BRHS) is a non-profit community organization dedicated to protecting the town's historical character. For information pertaining to exhibits, events, and activities, please check the BRHS website.
A citizens group with the goal to promote the development of a greenway between Boone and Blowing Rock to provide enjoyment and recreation for residents and visitors to the High Country. All are welcome to participate in this endeavor.
The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation is the primary nonprofit fundraising organization, 501(c)3, of the Blue Ridge Parkway, helping ensure cultural and historical preservation, natural resource protection, educational outreach, and visitor enjoyment. Among its many initiatives, the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation is committed to ensuring Moses H. Cone Memorial Park in Blowing Rock remains a cultural treasure, historic landmark, and tourist destination that stimulates the local economy.
The mission of the High Country Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc., is to support breast cancer patients, survivors, and their families in the High Country of North Carolina. Through events such as the High Country Walk/Run for Breast Cancer, we raise funds that are awarded as scholarships to local women and men fighting breast cancer. We are an all-volunteer foundation whose funds remain in the community.
The mission of Hospitality House is to rebuild lives and strengthen community by providing a safe, nurturing, healthy environment in which individuals and families experiencing homelessness and poverty-related crises are equipped to become self-sufficient and productive
Mountain Alliance is a community of individuals committed to providing youth with opportunities to explore and develop their leadership potential adventure and service learning. We connect students with a support structure and caring community during their most formative years. Activities are open to any high school student in Watauga County and are free.
Founded in 1978, OASIS, Inc. (Opposing Abuse with Services, Information, and Shelter) is dedicated to ending domestic violence and sexual assault in Watauga County, North Carolina. OASIS provides comprehensive emergency services and support, education and skill development, and works to create a community that no longer tolerates sexual violence.
Established in 1946, the Rotary Club of Blowing Rock provides an opportunity for friendship, fellowship, and service to the community, the local area, and the world. The object of Rotary International is to develop friendship as an opportunity to serve, to maintain the highest ethical standards in business and professional endeavors, to apply the goal of Service above Self, and to advance international understanding, good will, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional Rotarians. The Rotary Club of Blowing Rock meets every Monday at 12:00 noon at Chetola.
The Children's Council of Watauga County
is a local nonprofit that works to build a strong foundation for children's learning and development by strengthening families, the early childhood system, and the wider community.
Habitat is a Christian housing ministry. We build simple, decent homes for families who earn between 30-60% of Watauga County median income. Donations of land, materials and volunteer labor keep the homes affordable and families contribute sweat equity. Houses are sold with no profit to families with zero interest mortgages.

Women's Fund of the Blue Ridge is a grant making organization founded and run by a diverse group of concerned women determined to make a positive impact on the lives of women and girls in our lovely mountain community.
